
The author has worked in international relations and policy close to a decade, with specific expertise on human rights issues in the Gulf and Iran, and politics in general in Turkey and the Middle East. He has also done stints trying to prevent the Chinese government from stealing university research for military purposes, as a consultant on refugee rights, and other things best left unmentioned.
Having lived in İzmir, the Hague, and Helsinki, he is currently based in London, where he curses the cold and blesses the bookshops.
